This movie came & went and no one even read about it. The movie was the directorial debut of supremely talented actress Konkana Sen Sharma.  ‘A Death in the Gunj’ is a coming of age story, about a shy student Shyamal Chatterjee played by Vikrant Messy. He uses a family road trip to McCluskiegunj, an old Anglo-Indian town, as an escape from his failed semester with his self-involved relatives and family friends. Trapped is nothing like you have ever seen before. My personal favourite and an absolutely brilliant piece of cinema, Trapped will make you smile, cringe & give you goosebumps. The movie stars none other than Rajkumar Rao & is about his struggles to survive while he is stuck in an abandoned flat in Mumbai without food, water or any communication. Siddharth Diwan has done a brilliant job in the Cinematography department. Fun Fact, Trapped was also the first Bollywood movie that was released in Cinemas without a break.

Swara Bhaskar like always has stood out in the movie with her amazing acting skills and killer dance moves. She has played the lead role of a small-town erotic folk dancer in Arrah in Bihar. The movie revolves around her confrontation with a vice chancellor played by Sanjay Mishra. Pankaj Tripathi & Vijay Kumar has played their parts with sheer brilliance. The movie will take you through the life of a dancer, her emotions, her struggles & how she handles her life with utmost courage.

Newton is the newest release on the list and is another feather to the already blooming crown on Rajkumar Rao. The movie was announced as an official entry to the Oscars under the ‘Best Foreign Film Category’. It is a story of Nutan Kumar turned into Newton who is a government clerk and tries to run a free and fair election in a conflict area in central India. Once again, Pankaj Tripathi & Sanjay Mishra adds the right amount of flare and shows their talent in the movie with ease. You shouldn’t miss out on this one.

Movie Buffs, be ready to burn your day & night fuel. You’ll definitely thank me after watching each one of them. Also, these movies will restore your faith in Good cinema & its power. Binge Watch them now!
