6 Most Powerful Women from Jaipur

“She is ancient, she is bold 

She is calm and strong. 

She is feminine, she is fierce 

She is destructive and divine. 

She obeys yet she rules, 

She showers love but is ridiculed. 

She is Durga, she is Kaali. 

She is Sita and Panchaali.” 

The above lines depict the power of women accurately. Today, on international women’s day, we too want to celebrate the power of women by celebrating the great work done by these six women who proved “hum kisi se kam nahi” by their actions to this sexist world’s face. 

1. Divolka Jain

Divolka Jain, the Director of Salt Food Fest- Jaipur’s Biggest Food Fest, is currently a food stylist at Gyanjee Caterers from past 5 years. Her venture- Salt food fest has created a record for biggest ghewar in Asia and also got Indian and International celebrity chefs to the city to give workshops along with 30 plus food pops from around the country. She has done a course of Food Photography & Styling from Le Cordon Bleu, London and has introduced the concept of food styling in catering in Jaipur and is known for redefining food presentations in events. She also conducts workshops for aspirants of Food Styling and practices the art of “making food more beautiful and adding soul to the food and has recently shot an episode with Masterchef Gary Mehigan’s Masters of Taste for Fox International Channel. 

2. Ankita Sharma

Ankita Sharma, an unconventional model from Jaipur who rose every time life tried to pull her down. Runner up of Miss India Wheelchair 2017-18, decided to never look back and thus reached the greatest heights. She has been awarded several prominent awards including women of the future awards 2018, Rajasthan Women Achievement Award 2018 and has been felicitated by Mr. Mahesh Bhatt at JKK. She has also inaugurated the first Forever 21 store in Jaipur and was even called on stage by Singer Parmish Verma at Gaana Crossblade. She will also be speaking at TedxIISUniversity on 7th April. 

3. Aditi Hundia

Aditi Hundia, Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Supranational 2018 was also crowned as Miss India Rajasthan 2017 during the fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2017 state crowning. She recently represented India at Miss Supranational 2018 that was held in Poland and made it to top 25. She begun her career by walking on the ramp of Elite Miss Rajasthan 2016 where she was one of the contestants. She also won the position of first runner up at the show.

4. Apurvi Chandela

Apurvi Chandela, the Arjuna Awardee for shooting from jaipur, won the women's 10m air rifle gold at the ISSF World Cup 2019 and became the second Indian woman to win in the category. In September 2018, Apurvi hogged the headlines when she qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. At the 2018 Asian Games, she won the bronze medal for the 10-meter air rifle mixed team event.  

5. Twinkle Singh and Ayesha Sajjan

Twinkle Singh and Ayesha Sajjan, the childhood friends turned business partners describe their journey as rewarding and fulfilling. The owners of our very favorite café quaint were lawyer and banker by profession. “The idea behind the café is bringing in the conscious eating, sustainable practices and a near about zero waste kitchen model focusing on seasonal and local ingredients.” their second venture Bistro Quaint works on the similar model of local, seasonal and sustainable produce and a zero-waste kitchen. What sets it apart is its extensive vegan friendly menu, Neapolitan pizzas and fresh baked breads. 

6. Dr. Tanvi Thaper

Dr. Tanvi Thaper, a 27-year-old dentist from Jaipur who specializes in smile makeovers for aspiring models, is associated with pageants like Miss Eva India to groom the contestants on ways to improve their white smile. Along with handling a clinic of her own, she has also curated 2 projects. The first one, Project Say Cheese aims at providing dental hygiene education and anti-tobacco counselling for the underprivileged. Another project launched by her is Locks of happiness which promotes hair donation for children suffering from cancer. It is also one of the first projects of its kind in India to start a cancer awareness drive with a moto "let's fight cancer in style!".
