7 SPEAKERS AT JLF 2019 YOU SHOULDN'T MISS & WHAT MORE TO EXPECT THIS YEAR!

It's the time of the year where all roads and everyone find their way to Diggi Palace. Sachin Pilot, Manisha Koirala, Barkha Dutt, Shashi Tharoor and so many more will be in attendance at the “greatest literary show on Earth” from 24 January to 28 January 2019. As we all know this lietrature festival is the most presitgious way literature is appreciated & celebrated, there is definitely alot to expect from this year's Zee JLF'19.

JLF co-director, William Dalrymple says the 2019 line up is the strongest Jaipur lineup ever & it excites us to levels. “This year we have an emphasis on scientific temper and thinking. We have looked at the past enough. We have to look to the future, we have to be with young people,” says Namita Gokhale, an Indian writer and the co-director of the fest. In the 12th edition of the fest, genetics, artificial intelligence and climate change as the highlights of the festival. 

For the first time in the history of this fest, genre of science fiction will also be a part of the discussion session.Venki Ramakrishnan, a biologist from India is expected to put forward his ideologies on the importance of science on genetics. Not to miss, the author of ‘Life of Pi’, Yann Martel, whom the directors had been trying to invite for the last seven years, is finally expected to be at the festival (reminds us how amazing the movie was)

  • SHASHI THAROOR

The name is enough, Tharoor, an award-winning author of 18 books of fiction and non-fiction, including Why am I Hindu?, Inglorious Empire and the recently published, The Paradoxical Prime Minister. He would be in conversation with Mihir Sharma in his session named #Tharoorisms.

Zuni, the daughter of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and journalist Anupama Chopra has written two poetry books at the age of 17 and it's pretty empowering to see girls and women excelling, spot her in the session Poetry Hour along with Aadil Raza Mansoori, Anjum Hasan, Eliza Griswold, Perumal Murugan, Zeina Hashem Beck.
