Amidst the celebration of a wedding, a grieving incident occurred-
- On Tuesday 11 people were killed and 13 injured when a transformer exploded at Khatulai village near Shahpura town in Jaipur.
- Injured suffered from heavy burn injuries from 60 to 95% due to burning hot oil and have been admitted to SMS Hospital.
- 5 including a minor & 9 months pregnant woman died on the spot.
- The government announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the kin of the deceased.
Jaipur Discom has claimed the work of feeder renovation is also going on for several months to reduce the cut off and special maintenance of power cables, transformers have been going on even before Deepawali. Despite this, the incident highlighted the working style of the engineers. There is about 15 lakh in the state and 12,000 transformers in Jaipur.
A few days back only the transformer of Dhani Gujran was re-imposed after repairs, on October 25. The transformer can burst due to high load or high temperature but this transformer was under no such circumstances. XEN was not removed even after charge-sheet being already issued on him. This highlights major discrepancies and irresponsibility on part of government.
